2009 Lexus GX - Review
The 2009 Lexus GX 470 remains much the same as the 2008. It is a delight midsize SUV seating up to eight passengers, but undoubtedly no more than six adults in comfort. The GX entered the furnish in the 2003 model year and is first cousin to the Toyota 4Courier. Foreign market competitors number the Acura MDX, Infiniti QX56, Realty Rover LR3, Saab 9-7X, Volvo XC90, BMW X3 and X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Extraction and Porsche Cayenne. Domestic striving is the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator and Jeep Highest Cherokee.
Towing weight (at 6,500 pounds), trainload space and a 48 month or 50,000 mile bond are all better than average for the class with the GX 470. The home finish is also very nice. Retail prize, fuel economy and passenger flat could all use improvement.
The only GX engine is a 263 horsepower dual overhead cam 4.7 liter V8 matched with a five-fleetness automatic transmission. Fuel conservatism is a somewhat sad 14 miles per gallon big apple and 18 miles per gallon on the highway. The GX is full interval all-wheel drive and has decent off route ability.
NHTSA ratings are not convenient for this vehicle. Safety features count antilock brakes, automatic shipment leveling, electronic brake support, locking/limited slip differential, drag control, vehicle stability dial, airbags everywhere, tire pressure sentinel, theft deterrent system and a first aid kit. There is also an optional electronic parking aid.
The GX comes in only one form, that's the Sport Utility. Standard features categorize running boards, height adjustable interruption, interior air filter, power slant/telescopic wood/leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, aroused front bucket seats, ten-way power driver focus with lumbar adjustment, six-way power front voyager seat, driver seat/glass/steering wheel memory, wood veiled trim, heated power mirrors, alien keyless entry, power sunroof, six-disc CD/MP3 changer, stumble computer, altimeter, barometer, rain-sensing windshield wipers, widespread garage door opener and impulsive headlights. Optionally you can get a navigation box, a DVD system, satellite radio, Lexus In Assistance System (think OnStar), a posterior spoiler and a tow-hitch receiver.
Lexus mainly makes a very nice vehicle and the 2009 Lexus GX 470 is no lockout. It's a pretty automobile and has all the things you would envision in a luxury SUV, and a few you wouldn't. Still, with a base of $47,615 it is outrageous, and with limited passenger room and violent fuel consumption, unless you reasonable want a Lexus SUV, there are probably superior deals out there.
